Kristin's
January 2005 visit
You
may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a
good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught
up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.
The
"Plateforme"
13 January
2005: Dr Joe and Ms Kristin strike out on snowshoes across The Platform, the blessedly
flattish kilometre just to the north of the road between Marchairuz and the Vallée
de Joux, bound they know not where (the photographer has the map).
Snow
came late to Switzerland this winter, as frequently in recent years -- this is
mid-January. But afterward it dumped for three weeks and got everybody stuck in
knee-deep and snarled the roads up along Lake Geneva for a long time -- and then
it melted away all at once. Go figure.
Hikers

that descends must converge"
That's
the narrator there in the centre (Dr Pirri's exiting hastily on the left)
