Summer 2012
A photographic record of whatever leapt out at us
Every three years, the governments grab us by the backs of our necks and won't let go for two long weeks. Ramsar COP11 focused our minds (Kristin's, too, this time round) until late July, and then we disported ourselves in the Wisconsin afternoons whilst hammering away at the COP Proceedings in the mornings.
You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.
But first, the grand naval parade as the Belle Epoque steamers on Lake Geneva kicked off the summer season with a splash (Morges, 20 May 2012)

What’s next? Young William's first tourist experience in Switzerland, as Marlowe his mom revisits her old haunts; a week in Spain, mostly to visit Toledo; a few weeks in Sicily, partly to see the immense cultural heritage but mostly to see the places where Inspector Montalbano was filmed. That gets us through to Christmas, anyway.
