Dwight Peck's personal website Winter
2003-2004
wonderful
wintry fun in the country the neo-cons have so far overlooked
You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.
La
Correntine and the Crêt de Mondisé
Early
trips to Mondisé have left us ready for more
Two
promeneurs passing Crêt de Mondisé and La Correntine farm on a chilly,
windy 18 February 2001. La Correntine farm (1439 meters) is tucked up into a seldom-frequented
shelf on the La Correntine ridge leading NNE to the Crêt de Mondisé (1525m),
2.2 kilometres due south of Mont Tendre.
Dr
Pirri enthuses characteristically at the small ski-club chalet just above La Correntine,
on his way to the Crêt de Mondisé during a snowstorm, in May 2002.
We've got to get back there and see what we've been missing.
28
March 2004
Dr
Pirri, tormented by the desire to see the farm of Correntine once again, lumbers
upward through the trackless forest.
Coming?
There
it is, La Correntine in its quiet dignity, 28 March 2004.
Hikers
are snapping off photos as they pass below the farm on their way to the Crêt
de Mondisé on a stunningly beautiful day in March 2004.
Dr
Pirri, tired of compulsive photography, gives us the 'surly glare'.
Crêt
de Mondisé. Good reasons to be in Switzerland, March 2004, and not in Iraq.
Mont Tendre in the distance.

The narrator's back alone a week later, 3rd of April 2004, to see if the snow's still good enough up here for Kristin's visit
