Winter
2003-2004
wonderful
wintry fun in the country the neo-cons have so far overlooked
You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.
A walk across the Plateforme
25 January 2004
They're off! At speed. That is, Joe and Lisa are off and I'm tagging along with the camera.
Racing out across the large flat called Le Plateforme, with the hill of Petites Chaumilles behind
-- Don't dawdle!
It's a cold day, with greyish skies, but the sun keeps breaking through.
Lisa is prepared for a walk across Antarctica.
If this were a race, I'd be losing it.
Lunch near the cabin of Bois Gentil
Off into the forest . . .
. . . and soon completely lost. For the time being.
We follow dutifully.
And we've chanced upon a farm road that's identifiable on the map.
The farm of Grande Chaumilles
A painstakingly posed portrait
And a moment of levity
And a march back across the Platform before the sun disappears for the day.
