A
few late season strolls about the misty countryside
You
may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a
good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught
up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go. Rob
and Elke in the fog
Rob's
come for a brief visit and we're out wandering about in the fog for a while near
Petit Cunay in the Jura, 17 September 2005.
Rob
and Elke looking for mushrooms in the brouillard.
Rob
photographing a small tree, Elke checking for text messages.
Elke
on the track of an elusive mushroom.
Mont
Tendre (probably)
Dr
Pirri has just walked up through the forest from near the village of Montricher
and is standing in the vicinity of the farm of Pré Anselme, which ought
to be around here somewhere. 19 September 2005.
At
last a landmark, the Chalet du Mont Tendre, with its restaurant montagnard welcoming
visitors to its pleasant terrasse on a Saturday afternoon, minus the visitors
(except us).
The
wall-cow can be a little disconcerting looming out of the mist. It seems to be
trying to ask some kind of question.
The
three-sided shed near the top of Mont Tendre, with its helpful warning about not
picking up unexploded munitions.
Well,
time to go home now. Uhhhhh......
Thoroughly
lost whilst descending through the trackless foggy forests, another landmark --
trees growing out of a nice big rock -- puts us on the right way to finding the
car again before Thursday.
