Winter 2004-2005

as life's hectic non-stop party threatens to get out of control and really exhausting

Marlowe T. Peck's visit to the old country (2)

You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.

Christmas hols 2004, Marlowe forsakes her studies and leaves Dima to take care of the ferrets in Ottawa, Ont., and comes along to visit the Old Dad and walk in the forest.

First: Christmas dinner in Aigle

The annual Christmas photo, something like 12th in the series.

Now it's time to work off all that Christmas dinner and go for a hike, and have lunch . . .

The Fruiteries of Nyon

We're starting off from beautiful downtown St-Cergue, 27 December 2004

Pausing in our hike to the Fruiteries of Nyon, Lisa and Marlowe eat a chicken.

Marlowe and Lisa confront a substantial wind. Lake Geneva is in the background.

Lisa and Marlowe at the Fruiteries, which, in summer, is not so much a fruitery as, in fact, a pig farm

Winter at the pig farm

Marlowe in the Tolkien forest

Marlowe and the Old Dad, now continents apart, have much less quality time together than formerly

But we'll muddle on as best we can
