Things are looking up again

After a half-wasted winter, now we've got maddening months at work, trying to migrate a very large Web site to a different technology, and no end in sight. It's time to take a break and, as luck would have it, Kristin's coming here for a visit -- and then we're going there for a visit -- and at the end of it, everything's looking up again, in this part of the world, anyway. [Click on the photos to proceed.]

You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.

What's next? Lots of unused leave time built up over the past 18 months at work, so we're off to Devon for a few weeks in October, after a weekend at the Lac de Taney with Alison. Then Kristin's back again in December, good snow by then, we can hope. Retirement in January, and going onto a halftime work schedule for the future, with lots of ideas about how to use all that unaccustomed leisure.
